Welcome to Emmanuel Baptist Church
Below you will find information or links to help you get to know a little bit about us. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns please do not hesitate to contact us.
WHO IS EMMANUEL BAPTIST ?
We are a body of believers with the following purpose:
To be a fellowship of believers who strive to have a growing and personal love relationship with God and who seek to bring others into that same relationship.
WHAT TO EXPECT
You can expect to find a welcoming, warm, and caring group of people who truly love the Lord, each other, and you!
WHEN SHOULD I GET THERE?
If you are joining us for Bible study, you should plan to be here about 5 to 10 minutes prior to 9:00 AM. If you are joining us for worship, you should plan to be here shortly after 10:00 AM, especially if you have young preschoolers.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
You will find that there is no official attire. You will see folks in jeans, slacks, dresses, suits, tennis shoes. People at Emmanuel dress for comfort, but with the intent not to dress so as to make others uncomfortable.
DO MY KIDS GO TO WORSHIP SERVICE WITH ME?
Yes they can. However, we believe the best option is for your children to participate in the age-appropriate programming provided just for them. We have a well-staffed nursery for babies to 2 or 3 years of age. For older preschoolers (age 4 through Kindergarten) and young school age children (grades 1 and 2) we have a children's worship service. They will participate with their parents in regular worship during the music, but will be dismissed with caring and prepared teachers for the remainder of the worship. They will have their own space where the programming is just for them. Children from grades 3 and up will participate in the regular worship with their parents.
What We Believe
At Emmanuel Baptist the essentials we believe are contained in The Baptist Faith and Message (2000). Beliefs are not worth much unless they are translated into actions. Based on what the Bible teaches, we feel strongly about the following core values. We are not content to simply get by in our Christian lives. We want to excel or seek excellence. In order to do so, we must set a C.O.U.R.S.E. of action for putting our core values to practice. These are our core values:
Commitment - We believe everyone has to make a decision to follow Jesus which leads to commitment, concentration, and contentment.
Obedience - We believe that at the heart of our relationship with God is an obedient spirit. We believe it leads to God's blessings upon us.
Unity - We believe in unity not uniformity or agreeing on everything, but it is being one in spirit and purpose.
Relationships - We believe that relationships are life! Everyone needs someone. We believe Jesus puts us into His church to receive a blessing and to be a blessing.
Servanthood - We beleive Jesus modeled and taught the principle of servanthood. We believe greatness in the kingdom of God is achieved through Christ-like servanthood.
Edification - We believe that the goal of every Christian should be to grow up or mature in Christ. This happens through the environment of a body of believers encouraging and edifying one another.
